Abstract
Dr. Rogers Lowery discusses what might happen if we approached AI not only as something to monitor, but as an exciting opportunity to engage with learning and pedagogy? In her presentation, she will share four AI-assisted learning approaches she is currently exploring in her classes:
- teaching effective prompt design to use ChatGPT as a brainstorming partner during the research workflow in a senior Capstone course
- using a custom GPT in ChatGPT to guide students through developing annotated bibliographies as a way of enhancing their engagement with their resources
- transforming quizzes and other learning activities into reflective AI conversations with Blackboard’s AI Conversation tool
- and using NotebookLM as a study aid that helps students to question, process, and interact with course materials.
As (an enthusiastic) student of AI, she is eager to share works in progress, exchange ideas and feedback, and invite opportunities for collaboration.
